Ice joined Cranberry International School in Grade 3, transitioning from a Thai school background. When she first arrived, her English skills were limited, but with dedication and support from our community, she blossomed into a confident English speaker. By the time she graduated Grade 6, Ice had achieved fluency in English, empowering her to communicate effortlessly. We’re proud to celebrate her next step as she joins the English Program at Bunyawat Witthayalai School in Lampang.
"My experience at CIS has been incredibly positive. I’ve made many great friends, and the school has been a very welcoming and supportive place. While I enjoy spending time with my friends, we don’t always agree on everything, but we’ve learned to be supportive of each other. When I first arrived at CIS, my English wasn’t very strong, and adjusting was a bit challenging. However, I worked hard to improve, and with a lot of encouragement from my teachers and classmates, I became more confident in my skills.
Some of my favorite subjects are English, Chinese, Thai, and Math. I enjoy these subjects because they challenge me and help me grow. Learning new languages is exciting, and math is especially enjoyable because it pushes me to think critically and solve problems.
One of my favorite activities was the camping. It's a fun way to spend time with my friends, enjoy nature, and try new things outside the classroom.
I believe that English is an essential skill, and I’m glad I developed this skill during my time at CIS. Since I joined the English Program at Bunyawat Witthayalai School (BWS), I’ve had to study some subjects in English, and the foundation I built at CIS has really helped me. English is an international language, so it allows me to connect with people around the world and explore new opportunities. The skills I learned at CIS have made it easier for me to succeed in my studies now and continue learning both in and outside of the classroom.
One memorable moment for me was when my homeroom teacher in Grade 6 recommended a book to me. I’ve never really been the kind of person who enjoys reading books, but she lent me one, and I actually ended up really enjoying it. I had fun reading it, and it made me realize how interesting books can be. That was a big accomplishment for me, as it helped me develop a new interest in reading."
"From Cranberry to Bunyawat Witthayalai, our graduate is thriving in their new environment! These snapshots capture their joy, growth, and adaptability as they embrace new challenges and friendships in their academic journey."
"My experience at Bunyawat Witthayalai School has been very positive in many ways. I’ve had the chance to meet new friends from different schools, which has been really exciting. There are also a lot of activities I enjoy, like EP House, where we’re divided into four groups named after Harry Potter houses. I’m in the M.1 grade, but I get to interact with seniors from M.2 to M.4, which is a great way to connect with older students. I’m also really looking forward to the English camp, which I think will be a fun and valuable experience.
One of the biggest challenges I faced when transitioning to a new school was studying Thai. Since CIS is an English-speaking school, I didn’t have as much practice with Thai, and it was difficult for me at first. However, my time at CIS helped me develop good study habits and learn how to approach challenging subjects. The support from my teachers and the school community taught me how to be persistent and ask for help when needed."
🔴 What advice would you give to current students at CIS who are preparing for their next steps after Grade 6?
"My advice would be to study hard and stay focused. If you put in the effort now, things will get easier in the long run. "
🔴 How did you prepare for your transition to Bunyawat Witthayalai School?
"I didn’t do anything too special to prepare, but my homeroom teacher helped me a lot before the entrance exam by tutoring me. Some of the staff at Cranberry International School are actually BWS alumni, so they shared useful information about what to expect, which made it easier for me to adjust once I got there. I also already had some friends at BWS, so that made the transition much smoother. With all the support, I was able to settle in quickly and feel comfortable at the new school."
